Ex-Morgan Stanley fixed income trader set to launch in May

A new pan-Asia fixed income fund managed by Ranodeb Roy, the former head of Morgan Stanley’s fixed income trading desk for Asia-Pacific, is set to be launching in early May.

The strategy, which will be macro-focused and top-down driven, hopes to gain from market dislocations by trading credit, interest rate and currencies.
 
Those dislocations, according to Roy, could include among other things, the European peripheral debt crisis, the tight fiscal bind in the US and even the recent sell-offs on Sun Hung Kai and other Hong Kong credits on account of the corruption charges levelled on HK tycoons.
