Roy readies launch of pan-Asia fixed income fund

A new pan-Asia fixed-income fund managed by Ranodeb Roy, the former head of Morgan Stanley’s fixed income trading desk for Asia-Pacific, is to launch in early May.

The macro-focused, top down-driven strategy hopes to gain from market dislocations by trading credit, interest rates and currencies. Those dislocations, according to Roy, could include the European peripheral debt crisis, the tight fiscal bind in the US and even the recent sell-offs on Sun Hun Kai and other Hong Kong credits following the corruption charges levelled at HK tycoons.
