High net worths stick with hedge funds


The latest asset allocation report compiled by high net worth investor group Tiger 21 shows a decrease in cash and fixed-income holdings, but hedge fund allocations remain roughly unchanged at 9% of the average portfolio.

On a quarterly basis, private equity at 14% is well above the median allocation of 11% in recent months. Percentage allocations to hedge funds, commodities and real estate remained unchanged from the last quarter of 2011. In comparison to the first quarter 2011 though, hedge fund allocations picked up slightly from 7% to the current 9% of HNW assets.
