Strong performing Sansar to re-open Asia flagship fund


Singapore-headquartered Sansar Capital is re-opening its well-regarded long/short Asia equity strategy, the Sansar Capital Master Fund, after returning external capital to outside investors at the start of 2011.

The group, founded in 2005 by Wharton graduate and former Kingdon Capital Asia portfolio manager, Sanjay Motwani, has since continued to manage the fund with internal capital, albeit with a more concentrated portfolio.

The Sansar flagship fund only invests in highly liquid publicly traded large-cap equities, and derivatives.

The fund was up 9.3% last year and is up 12.6% year-to-date through May – outperforming the MXAS Index by 41% over
