Geneva’s Cern accelerates hedge fund stakes


Cern pension fund – which runs the pension assets of the particle physics laboratory in Geneva – is set to add substantially to its hedge fund portfolio over the next few months.

The $4 billion scheme will raise its hedge fund investment from roughly $100 million to around $600 million – or roughly 15% of total assets, as it looks to restructure the total portfolio to provide greater capital preservation.
