Mellon Optima L/S Strategy Fund
The $497 million Mellon Optima L/S Strategy Fund, which is advised by Mellon Hedge Advisors and sub-advised by Optima Fund Management, has made a number of manager changes since its 31 March 2011 filing. The most recent include initiating efforts that could lead to the sale of Raptor Global Portfolio Liquidating Trust and Raptor Private holdings in the secondary market. James Pallotta, who started Raptor Capital Management in 1993, decided to close the fund, a decision that followed losses in 2008 and many redemption requests.
Definitely gone are Brookside Capital Partners Fund II, Eminence Partners and Hunter Global
