Kevin Franklin’s EquityONE draws from the parent firm’s global stock insights.

BlackRock recently started marketing its EquityONE Fund, a market neutral hedge fund it incubated and launched in February.

EquityONE “seeks to optimize BlackRock’s global equity insights” and “draws on the depth, breadth, and diversity of BlackRock’s equity teams by sourcing long and short stock recommendations across the platform to construct an optimal portfolio that minimizes beta and controls incremental risk,” according to marketing materials obtained by AR.

The combination fundamental and quantitative fund will trade up to 1,500 stocks at a time, with no position exceeding 5% of the portfolio and maintaining a return volatility of 8% to 10%
