Macquarie plots expanded capacity for Asia quant fund


Macquarie, the Sydney-headquartered investment group, is looking to expand the capacity of its $1.6 billion Asia quant fund after effectively shutting it down to new subscriptions in the middle of last year. The team which runs the strategy, headed by quant trader Nick Bird, will soon be hiring three more people to beef up its personnel capabilities.
