Farallon’s Steyer talks up Obama and sustainable energy at the Democratic convention

“All day long, I make decisions about smart investments and risky gambles. That's the job of our president, too. President Obama is making the smart investments we need.”

Prominent Democratic donor and environmentalist Tom Steyer, founder of $19.8 billion Farallon Capital Management, was rewarded for his contributions with a prime time speaking slot on “America’s energy future” at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte last night. The brief speech contrasted President Obama's sustainable energy accomplishments and vision with a Mitt Romney plan that would "do nothing to reduce our dependence on fossil fuels and much to increase it," as Steyer put it.
