ASIC releases new hedge fund disclosure guide


Australia’s regulatory body, ASIC, has issued a guide providing benchmarks and principles on hedge fund disclosures.

The final version of the guide incorporates a number of changes that were made as a result of submissions received during the consultation, including: defining hedge funds as managed investment schemes which exhibit at least two out of five characteristics: complex investment strategy or structure; use of leverage; use of derivatives; use of short selling; and charging a performance fee.
