Gains outweigh losses among global macro managers


September saw broad dispersion in macro fund returns yet again – but there were more gains to be had than losses and there were some notable numbers on the upside.

Nordea Alpha 15 performed well, ending the month up 6.39%. Pharo Macro gained 5.19% and Valu-Trac Strategic posted a return of 4.66%, while Future Trends made 4.12% and Jeff Brummette’s OneWall Global was up 3.69%.

Among other strong performers BlueBay Macro made 3.67%, Laurentia Global was up 3.62%, GLG Emerging Markets returned 2.90% and BTG Pactual Global Emerging Markets and Macro posted a gain of 2.51%. Brevan Howard
