The list of eligible assets in which a UCITS fund can invest should be expanded to include commodity derivatives, according to the Alternative Investment Management Association (AIMA).
The position paper, part of its response to the UCITS V consultation, states that European investors may have to the flexibility of added exposure to commodity prices.
AIMA adds: “The treatment of commodity derivatives appears to be outdated and in contradiction with the investor protection concerns and the interest of investors in general.
