Japanese equity funds lead the way

Japanese equity was the best-performing UCITS fund strategy during the reporting period for the week ending 19 October 2012, according to the Absolute UCITS database.

Funds in the strategy – which reported an average return of 3.9% during the week – include Vitruvius Japanese Equity, which is managed by London-based Mattia Nocera and which was one of the strongest-performing funds with a return of 4.79%.

Other funds following the strategy posted strong gains too – with Tiburon Taiko posting returns of more than 3.5%, while Martin Currie GF – Japan Absolute Alpha Fund produced a return of
