Buena Vista seeks to scale up funds as pan-Asia ex-Japan returns shine


San Francisco-headquartered Buena Vista Fund Management is looking to rebuild the size of its two Asia-equity focused funds after delivering strong year-to-date gains in both strategies.

Its $60 million long/short Buena Vista Asian Equity Fund – co-managed by Hong Kong-based portfolio manager Eric Chan along with Buena Vista co-founder Robert Rosner – delivered a robust 6.4% return in September.

The strategy substantially benefited from its exposures in markets such as Hong Kong/China, India, Taiwan and the Philippines.
