Hong Kong based Chartwell Capital is launching a long-only pan-Asia focused fund in January.
The group, which was founded in 2007 by the firm’s CIO Ronald Chan, currently runs the strategy through a managed account platform with nearly $100 million in assets from family offices and high net worth individuals.
Chartwell has been gradually selling holdings in the managed account to return cash to investors and to encourage those clients to get into the new platform.
The managed account platform delivered a 4.1% return last year compared to the 20%+ drop in the Hang Seng index. Year
