Alphacet marks entry into Asia with Shidan


US-based Alphacet, which produces software for quantitative analysts, portfolio managers and traders, has entered the Asian market through a service agreement with Singapore’s Shidan Capital.

Shidan, which runs the multi-strategy pan-Asia Deva Quantum Fund, will use the Alphacet Discovery modeling platform to build, back-test and deploy quantitative financial models. The firm had previously carried out its financial modeling and back-testing with off-the-shelf software, which proved to be time consuming, as complex models could not be easily developed or tested, according to Shidan fund manager Yongjie Yi.
