Sloane Robinson and Deutsche Bank plan Asian UCITS fund

London-based Sloane Robinson, the Asian and emerging market specialist managing $7.8 billion, is working with Deutsche Bank to launch a UCITS-compliant Asia fund which it hopes to launch in Q1 2011.

The strategy, which is pending regulatory approval, will be managed by the same team running Sloane Robinson’s flagship Asia fund – the Caymans-domiciled long/short equity SR Global Fund (Class B) Asia portfolio, which launched in 1994. The pan-Asia strategy, which runs $1.4 billion in AUM, has a compound annualised return of 17.4%.
