Truston Asset Management, which runs $3.7 billion through managed accounts and funds, has recently seen an almost 70% surge in the AUM for its Dynamic Korea Fund, receiving $28 million in fresh inflows last month. Its Korean equity long/short fund finished the year up 10.4%.

Cayman-domiciled Dynamic Korea now has about $60 million, according to portfolio manager Won Joon Son. “We’re seeing more investor demand for country-specific managers, which seems to be a growing trend. Korean equities are also, of course, a good way to get emerging market exposure,” said Son.
