George Soros’ Soros Fund Management has been quietly building out the team at its flagship Asia-Pacific office in Hong Kong, which was set up in November under the moniker SFM HK Management. The office is understood to have offically started operating this week.
The firm has relocated fund managers James Chang and Dai Jixin, who were previously based in the $27 billion firm’s New York headquarters. Chang, a former Tiger Asia Management managing director, joined Soros in 2009, while China-born Dai has been with the firm for a decade.
SFM has also recently recruited a number of Hong
