Wisconsin allocates $100 million in first hedge fund investment


The state’s $83 billion pension and insurance fund expects to hire as many as 20 managers.

The State of Wisconsin Investment Board has selected Capula Investment Management in London to receive its first hedge fund investment. The $83 billion pension will be investing $100 million in the Capula GRV Fund, which invests in global fixed income relative value and macro themes with a concentration in the U.S., Europe and Japan.

The commitment is part of Wisconsin’s new hedge fund allocation plan which the fund outlined a year ago. Wisconsin is planning to allocate 2% of its total assets, or $1.66 billion, to hedge funds and expects to hire as many as 20 managers within the
