Matchpoint sparks as AUM crosses $220m


Hong Kong-based Matchpoint Investment Management Asia, the fundamental event-driven strategy run by former Och Ziff Capital Management partner Raaj Shah and ex-Ivory Investment Management managing director Sean Debow, is understood to have dramatically scaled up its assets to over $220 million, up from the $50 million it managed in mid-2010.

Matchpoint Asia primarily trades in under-researched and mispriced stocks in Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Japan, Australia and South Korea, with a smaller focus on India, Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia.

Shah, a former 12-year veteran of Och-Ziff, teamed up with Debow in mid-2009 to set up Matchpoint Investment Management
