Highbridge closing Asia fund after Huttenlocher’s departure


Highbridge Capital Management is reportedly liquidating ts $1.4 billion Asia Opportunities Fund – one the region’s largest hedge funds – and returning money to investors, following the recent departure of Hong Kong-based manager Carl Huttenlocher.

Huttenlocher, who had been with the firm since 2002, oversaw about $2 billion of Highbridge’s assets, which included the regional investments of the firm’s $7 billion flagship multi-strategy hedge fund, in addition to the Asia Opportunities Fund.
