Australian and Indian funds outperform benchmarks


Asian hedge fund medians mostly under-performed against benchmarks in February. The twin exceptions were equity funds devoted to Australia and India.

Australian funds posted a median gain of 1.83% during the period, a performance just slightly higher than the Australian All Ordinaries’ 1.52% climb.

Indian funds continued to post declines in February but their 2.13% performance slippage is better than the Sensex’s 2.75% burnout.

Year-to-date, Indian funds have only lost 10.55% of their value, as compared to the Sensex’s 13.10% decline.
