Ex-BlueGold, MS forex strategist Jen sets up own business

Former BlueGold and Morgan Stanley currency and macro strategist Stephen Jen has set up his own macro/FX advisory company and asset manager called SLJ Macro.

Jen, a highly-rated macro economist, worked at the World Bank, the Federal Reserve and the IMF before joining Morgan Stanley in 1996 – initially as the bank’s Asian currency strategist in Hong Kong and then as chief currency and EM strategist based in London.

He left Morgan Stanley in early 2009 to join BlueGold Capital, the high-performing $2 billion London-based energy and commodity trading hedge fund, as managing director of macroeconomics and currencies.
