John Paulson’s $36 billion hedge fund firm has tapped PIMCO for a new investor relations role.

Paulson & Co. has hired James Clarke, formerly a senior vice president at bond manager PIMCO, as a senior vice president for investor relations and business development.

He will work alongside Larry Pokora, another senior vice president in investor relations, who has worked for the $36 billion hedge fund firm since 2006. Pokora had joined from bond management firm Brandywine Global Investment Management.

Clarke will report to James Wong, head of investor relations, and will focus more on Paulson’s Credit Funds, while Pokora will continue to work on the event-driven Advantage Funds, the Recovery funds and the merger arbitrage
