Big gains for iVIM Asia Opportunities

The iVIM Asia Opportunities fund had a stellar month in April, gaining 6.81% for the month, and taking year-to-date performance to 14.75%. Now in its tenth year, the fund has delivered a 17.52% annualised compound return.

Although the fund has a long-term focus and does not actively trade, April bore the fruits of the decision in March to increase weightings in Korean auto and technology component manufacturers as a result of the March 11 earthquake and tsunami in Japan, on the basis that supply chain disruptions would benefit competitors overseas, explains founder and portfolio manager Nerissa Lee.
