The UK’s Investment Management Association has said it will collect and analyse derivatives holdings across funds.
The purpose of the IMA’s review is to consider the impact of the introduction of more outcome-orientated products, combined with the greater use of derivatives in funds following the granting of wider powers in UCITS III. The association is establishing a working group to do this.
This is the first comprehensive review conducted by IMA since 1998 and UCITS III powers were enforced by the EC three years later.
The association’s new report 35-page report states: “The overall conclusion of the review was
