Hedge Fund Standards Board appoints new chair

The Hedge Fund Standards Board has appointed Dame Amelia Fawcett as its new chairman. A former non-executive director of the Bank of England and vice chairman of Morgan Stanley International, Fawcett has succeeded Sir Andrew Large who has been interim chairman since last December when Antonio Borges left to become European director of the International Monetary Fund.

Fawcett said: “Standards have an important role to play alongside statutory regulation in reassuring investors and the public that the hedge fund industry is adhering to good practice.

“I am looking forward to helping take forward the work of the HFSB.
