Chinese funds battle as A shares plummet 6%


May was a difficult month for China funds as a sharp decline of more than 6% in the domestic A share market, allied with worries about trust¬worthiness of financial numbers reported by Chinese companies, created a nervy climate for investors.

Galaxy China Deep Value Fund was down by 4.5% to take three-month figures to 50.17% and Pinpoint Opportunities fell by 1.4%, putting three-month numbers at 13.99%.

Richland Emerging Opportunities was up 1.84%, which took three-month figures to 12.03% while Titan China Growth Fund fell by 2.64%, leaving three-month numbers at 11.61%.
