Healthy month puts Doric back in the black


Gains on both the long and the short books enabled the Doric Asia Pacific Small Cap Fund to gain 1.3% for the month, taking year-to-date gains just back into the black. Good-performing long positions came from companies servicing Asian domestic economies while shorts in Chinese fixed asset investment-related companies generated strong absolute returns, explains Doric’s Howard Wong.

The next few months will require managers and investors to look beyond short-term volatility as this is a unique period in history when market leaders in the areas of domestic consumption, productivity improvement and services are still below $1 billion market
