European debt crisis hurts global equities, leaving most down in May


As fears about deteriorating economic fundamentals and the European debt crisis dogged the markets, many equity managers were down on the month. The median was off by 0.64%, taking year-to-date returns to 0.9%.

Berens Global Value Fund did well to post a gain of 1.26%, leaving three-month numbers at 0.31%, while Centennial Equity Opportunities was up 0.33% to put three-month figures at 2.23%. EnTrust Diversified Select was up 0.17% to put three-month figures at 1.55% and Prisma Long/Short Equity Portfolio was flat, leaving three-month numbers at 2.82%. SC Long/Short Equity was off by 0.12% to take three-month numbers
