July outflows from hedge funds were the highest since October 2009, according to fund administrator GlobeOp Financial Services. GlobeOp’s Capital Movement Index stands at 133.86 points this month, down 0.2% from June. The index recorded inflows of 3.24% versus outflows of 3.44%.
The index tracks reallocations and redemptions by investors in funds administered by GlobeOp to give an indication of liquidity and investor sentiment. GlobeOp administers $174 billion of assets, which represents roughly 8-10% of the total global hedge fund industry.
