It is now easier for Swiss UCITS funds to be sold to German investors following a tax agreement between the two countries.
Switzerlands Federal Council signed a tax agreement with Germany last week.
Under the terms of this tax agreement Swiss securities funds will be treated like UCITS in Germany by its regulator the Federal Financial Supervisory Authority or BaFin.
The Swiss fund market is one of the most influential and oldest in the world. Dr Matthäus Den Otter, chief executive of Swiss Funds Association, says: This is the first time that agreement has been reached on easier market access
