Monsoon’s quant bucks India’s plunge in August


August was a good month for Gautam Prakash’s Monsoon Capital – his India Opportunity fund was the only fund in the Indian equity universe to post positive returns for August – a healthy 6.95% against a median performance for its universe of -10.03%. Similarly, the Monsoon Asia-Pacific Systematic Fund gained 17.5% in August and is up 36.8% year-to-date.
