BlackRock, which manages $1.2 trillion in fixed income assets globally, has appointed Joel Kim, a seasoned fixed-income investor, to head its fixed income team in Asia-Pacific.
Kim, who will be based in Singapore, joins from ING Investment Management where he headed the Asian fixed-income team. He will work with BlackRock’s global fixed-income team to build out the regional platform and help manage several investment strategies.
Of the firm’s $1.2 trillion fixed-income portfolio, approximately 10% is managed in Asia. The group is rapidly scaling up investment management capability in the region.
