Offshore hedge funds seek exemption for Indian residents


Offshore hedge fund managers are lobbying India’s securities regulator to exclude co-investment participations by Indian residents in offshore funds from regulation by not considering these as money collected from Indian investors.

A consulting firm says that, based on the language of regulations proposed by the regulator, only those funds that have Indian investors would be regulated.
