Global equity portfolios battered by market rout in September

Few global equity markets were spared from the general rout in September. With the MSCI World down around 9%, it was an almost universally bad month for funds in this sector.

SSARIS Multi-Manager Global long/short fared relatively well with a 0.53% dip, taking year-to-date numbers to -0.62%. The portfolio’s opportunistic and market-neutral managers provided protection but value-oriented managers continued to generate losses.

Lighthouse Global long/short fund was down 0.55% on the month, taking year-to-date numbers to -1.95%, while HDF Xiphias was down 0.71%, putting year-to-date figures at -1.95%.

ABS Alpha was down 0.62%, leaving year-to-date numbers at -2.28%.
