Paris-based NewAlpha backs 17th emerging manager


NewAlpha Asset Management, the Paris-based hedge fund seeder and incubator, has made its 17th strategic investment in an emerging hedge fund manager with a commitment to Heieck Siebrecht Capital Advisors (HSCA). The $100 million Zurich-based firm is focused on German equities.

Founded in 2009 by Stefan Heieck and Frank Siebrecht, HSCA is the investment advisor of the Varus Fund, a long/short equity fund focusing on German mid-cap and large-cap stocks and their principal European competitors.

Varus Fund has a two-year track record and is up 20.1% net year to date and 46.7% net since inception in September 2009
