Skorina ranks top-earning CIOs at non-profits


The annual compensation of top US chief investment officers varies widely with executives earning up to $4.8 million annually and others taking home just under $600,000, according to executive recruiter Charles Skorina.

Skorina ranked the 50 most lucrative CIO salaries of endowments, foundations, public pension funds, healthcare organisations and other tax-exempt, not-for-profit funds. His top five earners are: Jane Mendillo of Harvard Management Company ($4.8 million); David Swensen, Yale University ($3.8 million); Nirmal Navekar, Columbia University ($3.4 billion); Scott Malpass, University of Notre Dame ($2.05 million); and Laurence Hoagland, Hewlett Foundation ($2.01 million).
