The latest addition to Deutsche Bank’s rapidly expanding UCITS platform is a fund based on the long-running long-biased long/short equity strategy run by US hedge fund industry veteran Leon Cooperman at Omega Advisors.
DB Platinum Omega is set to launch in December and will largely mirror Omega Overseas Partners, which focuses mainly on US mid and large-cap equities. New York-based Omega has a long track record, having been set up by Cooperman – a former chairman and CEO of Goldman Sachs Asset Management – in 1991. The firm manages around $5.8 billion in total.
