Composite index shows 13.4% mean return

The EuroHedge Composite Index posted its best gains for several years in 2009, with the median return up by 8.89% and the mean return up by 13.42%. All strategies showed strong positive numbers for the year - with the sole exception of managed futures.

The medians for European long/short equity, credit, multi-strategy, convertible arbitrage, emerging market debt and emerging market equity were all in double figures for the year. And the mean return in emerging market equity - the highest performer of the year after the debacle of 2008 - clocked in at over 50%.
