Global equity funds benefited from the buoyant markets in 2009, with the EuroHedge Global Equity Index posting a median return of 9.53% for the year and a mean return of 12.60% over the period. The strategy added a median return of 0.20% in December.
Several funds posted eye-popping gains, particularly those focused on hot sectors. RAB Energy gained a chunky 6.68% in December to finish the year with a hefty 87.05% gain, while the firm's RAB Global Mining and Resources Fund gained 76.50% for the year after a loss of 1.95% in December.
