Harvard hires Mason as chief risk officer


Neil Mason is set to join Harvard Management Company as chief risk officer, working closely with HMC president and CEO Jane Mendillo from 1 April.

Mason will work closely with Mendillo to implement best practices in risk management and controls for Harvard's $26 billion endowment portfolio. He will be responsible for creating policies and procedures to analyse and monitor risk, as well as refining risk-management architectures and quantitative methodologies to maximise the portfolio's risk/return profile.
