Quant chief Hassel parts with Millennium Global


The firm's head of systematic alpha strategies left in late January.

Arne Hassel, head of systematic alpha strategies at London-based global macro shop Millennium Global Investments, has left the firm. A former colleague said Hassel departed in late January. He could not be reached and is not known to have joined another firm. Hassel’s responsibilities have been taken over by Jean-Philippe Gruvel, executive director of systematic investments. Millennium did not return calls seeking comment.

Hassel joined Millennium in 2007. Last year he took a lead role in developing a Ucits III-compliant systematic absolute-return fund in conjunction with Deutsche Bank. The Millennium Global Systematic Alpha Fund was launched to investors
