Gina Sanchez has left after only six months at the $10 billion foundation.
Gina Sanchez, director of public markets at the Ford Foundation, left in February. Sanchez’s stay at the $10 billion foundation was short-lived; she joined on September 1, 2009 from The California Endowment, private health foundation, to spearhead Ford’s allocations to hedge funds and long-only managers.
According to a Ford spokeswoman, Sanchez decided to leave the non-profit sector to join the private money management industry. Ford is currently looking for a replacement. The spokeswoman declined to provide further details. Sanchez did not return calls seeking comment, and her future plans could not be ascertained.
