Acropole Asset Management, the Paris-based asset manager focused exclusively on convertible bonds and part-owned by Cheyne Capital, has hired the former CEO of Banque d'Orsay.
Jean-Paul Malpuech joins as an advisor to Acropole's president, Jacques Joakimides, and will be responsible for promoting the firm to institutional investors. Malpuech worked with Joakimides at Banque d'Orsay, where he was CEO until November 2008.
Joakimides co-founded Acropole in 2006 with Emmanuel Martin and Nathalie Sabathier. It is the first asset manager in France to focus solely on managing convertible bond funds.
