Hong Kong-based firm has seeding from Greenwich, Connecticut-based Paloma Partners
Chris Hsu, the former CEO of Hong Kong-based special situations shop Abax Global Capital and former managing director at Citadel Investments, is understood to have started Hong Kong-based Kilometre Capital Management.
Details on the strategy and launch date were not available. Kilometre is understood to manage capital in the $200-$250 million range with seeding from Greenwich, Connecticut-based Paloma Partners. The fund is closed to investors and not being marketed.
Paloma, founded by S. Donald Sussman in 1981, has incubated many well-known global hedge fund managers, including David Shaw of D.E. Shaw.
