Oracle eyes Asian structured credit market with new launches

Hong Kong-based Oracle Capital aims to seize opportunities in the Asian structured credit market with the launch of two hedge funds targeting collateralised debt, loan obligations and credit-linked notes.

The firm earlier this month rolled out the Oracle Investment Fund Segregated Portfolio 1, which targets US investors; it will be followed in June with Oracle Investment Fund Segregated Portfolio 2 for non-US investors.

Oracle, launched last year by two Lehman Brothers veterans, Leon Hindle and Fredric Teng, is raising a total of $50 million for the two Cayman Island-domiciled funds which will buy structured credit products from Asian banks,
