JK fund sees strong traction post transformation to Asia strategy

UK-based JK Investment Management's Absolute Return Fund has seen performance soar since its switch in geographic focus early last year to pan-Asia from Japan-focused, as well as a spike in assets.

The fund was up a solid 35.61% for 2009 with returns so far for 2010 through the end of April at 7.49%. "We have seen significant inflows recently, as interest in Asia is growing," explained JK's Francis Kirkpatrick." "This is in part due to the increasing difficulties faced by Western economies."

The JK Absolute Fund, which has AUM of $108 million, is managed by Kirkpatrick and Simon Jones.
