Morgan Stanley’s Roach bids adieu to Asia

Morgan Stanley Asia’s chairman, Stephen Roach, renowned for his insightfully frank economic forecasts, is leaving Hong Kong to join the faculty of Yale University in New York. He will retain ties to the bank, taking on the title of non-executive chairman of Asia as of July 1.

Roach, 64, was appointed chairman in 2007 after serving 16 years as Morgan Stanley’s chief economist in New York, during which time he gained recognition on Wall Street as a leading authority on the Chinese economy.
